Sarah Green Photography - the blog!

I am Sarah Green, a photographer based in Midland, Texas. I cover Odessa, Lubbock, Andrews, Big Spring, and all of West Texas. I am available for travel nationwide.

My style of photography is relaxed. I aim to capture personalities and emotions rather than stuffy, posed, "say cheese" pictures.

Since this blog is less formal than my main website, I will cover both my personal & professional life here. On this blog you will be able to find some of my most recent photographs while you take a peek at the life of the girl behind the camera.

I love hearing from my blog readers so please share your thoughs & comments on any posts that interest you.

Now, go grab your favorite drink, pull up a chair, and browse through some of my latest photos!

Amy’s senior portraits

Amy and I met up last week to take her senior portraits.  Amy’s mom and boyfriend joined us for the session.  Of course I made her boyfriend jump in on a couple of the pictures (see last image).  I love it when seniors bring a friend to their session–I love capturing genuine laughter and it is easy to do when friends are around.

Is it just me or does Amy look a lot like Christina Applegate?

Here is one of the pictures of Amy & her boyfriend . . . aren’t they so cute together?

More baby Brooklyn!

Remember baby Brooklyn? She’s baaaaack!

Stephanie and Travis: We will

Last week Stephanie and Travis drove in from Andrews to join me in for their engagement session in Odessa. Stephanie wanted a fun, modern engagement shoot with bright & colorful images. We spent the evening running around Odessa and stopping at several locations that I had pre-selected as well as some that we discovered that night.

We did not realize it when we were taking the shot, but the graffiti in the background says “TSB” which is what the couple’s initials will be.

“B” family children’s portrait session

I’ve had a funny couple of weeks. It seems like half of the phone calls and emails that I have received happen to be from someone who lives in my neighborhood.

Last week I met with the “B” family for a children’s portrait session. As I was visiting with the “B” family at the shoot, I realized that they live just a few blocks from my house! I can’t believe that we have not bumped into each other before at the neighborhood playground or pool.

Midland, Texas wedding: Bekah & Tad

On August 9th, Bekah and Tad were married in Midland, Texas. They were surrounded by friends and family as they celebrated at the Claydesta atrium.

Here’s a sneak peek at a few of their pictures. . . the rest of their wedding photographs will be available in the gallery soon.

Brittany & Shane: engagement portraits

Okay - y’all know that I fall for sweet stories. Brittany and Shane grew up in Midland and have known each other since their 7th grade year at Midland Christian. They headed off for Lubbock Christian University “just as friends.” However, during a night out together with mutual friends, Brittany & Shane realized that their friendship had grown to more than that–they secretly had crushes on each other. After dating for a while, Shane asked Brittany to marry him! Their wedding will be held in October at the CEED building in Midland. I’m looking forward to celebrating with you guys!  Engagement portraits

Family night out

Tonight we had a portrait session for our church directory.  The pictures were taken by a national picture-chain that frequently does these types of church directory pictures.  The pictures turned out as we expected.  Hannah has a very bored/solemn/angry look on her face and Sam is almost rolling his eyes in the picture while Brian & I look awkward . . . and that was the BEST of the seven pictures they gave us to choose from!

We did have fun after the portrait session though.  We went out to eat & the kids got to hear a mariachi band for the first time.  Hannah & Sam could hardly keep their eyes off of the musicians.

We started this session downtown before heading over to the Museum of the Southwest.
