Brandon & Meghan: Engaged!

Brandon & Meghan met during college at Texas A&M.  Since College Station is central for them, (Meghan’s family is from southeast Texas, Brandon’s family is from Midland) the couple will marry in their college town.  After the honeymoon, they will return to Midland where they currently work and live.

Brandon’s uncle owns this building and he has spent many hours painting the inside and outside of it during summer jobs.

Family portrait session

A couple of weeks ago, Charlsa contacted me requesting a session for her friend Allyson’s family.  Charlsa was so thoughtful to coordinate this session for us!

Allyson’s father started chemo last week and they wanted to take some family portraits together before he starts his treatments.  Allyson’s dad was feeling pretty well this afternoon and even worked up an apetite during our session (a huge blessing)!

We started with the larger group family portraits before breaking out into smaller families and individual portraits.

Reagan & Alicia: Engaged!

Reagan and Alicia inspire me–this is a couple whose struggles have only made them shine.

Reagan and Alicia met online.  Although they had an 1800 mile distance between them, Reagan and Alicia grew closer every day through their phone conversations.  In one of their conversations, Reagan revealed to Alicia that he is blind.  His fears that she might not want to continue their relationship were quenched as Alicia asked more questions and was all the more impressed with him.  (I have to agree with Alicia - Reagan is an amazing man!)

Reagan has not let his vision differences control his life.  He has accomplished more at the age of 27 than most people accomplish in a lifetime.  Among other events, Reagan has traveled the nation and performed in Carnegie Hall.  Reagan’s career is equally impressive!  He uses his degree in political science to pursue his passion of public service.  In talking with him, it seems like he knows and works with nearly every major political organization and public figure in West Texas.

Reagan & Alicia will marry in Monrovia, NY on April 25th 2009 with Alicia’s father (a Baptist minister) conducting the ceremony. Engagement portraitsEngagement portraitReagan & AliciaReagan & Alicia

The “B” family

This is my third time to work with the “B” family.  Baby Riggs’ big blue eyes always melt my heart!  I cannot believe how much he has grown since our last portrait session when he was 5 months old–he hardly looks like the same child!

Amanda, Landy & Riggs, I enjoyed working with you guys again.  It is fun to watch Mr. Riggs as he grows up!  Thank you so much for spending your Saturday morning with me.
