MP3 players do not swim.

When an MP3 player is thrown in a toilet, it will sink.  Could someone please explain this to a 2-year-old for me?

Family portrait sessions

I’m still going through the TONS of photos from Tara & Benny’s Saturday wedding plus I am in the process of editing 2 other portrait sessions.  I will get those pictures up ASAP but in the meantime, here are a few pics from some recent family sessions!

The “F” family! (note:  read the story right below this set of pictures)

The other “F” Family

Funny story, this “F” family is related to the “F” family above!  The two moms (who are also sisters-in-law) met up for lunch one day and were telling each other how excited they were because they booked had each booked a session for family portraits.  As they were talking, they realized that they both booked Sarah Green to take their portraits!  They contacted me at almost the same time and their sessions were only two weeks apart.

I have finally caught up!

My hectic Christmas rush is over & I have finally caught up with work.  I now have time to get back to regular blogging!  I love blogging & missed it so much during the past few months so I am super-excited to finally be able to get back into the game.

Okay so my first blog post after my hiatus . . . MY OWN KIDS!

I have these two pictures hanging side by side in my dining room.  They are each 30×40 size stretched canvases hanging in frames.

Hannah

I just love this picture of Sam’s smile.  This one hangs in my entryway in a 30×30 gallery-wrapped canvas.

Just a couple more recent shots of my kids . . . these are from early December.

I used a couple of these pictures for our 2008 Christmas card.

Weekend thoughts

Random things on my mind this weekend:

1.  Canon, could you please release your fall rebates on Monday?  I need a new cute little red stripe.

2.  Papa Murphys, you are the best!  I was in a rush today and not only did you have my pizza out right on time but you went above and beyond & made a couple of photocopies for me too.  (I was in a bind - out of paper & on a tight deadline).  Thank you!

3.  Single mommies & daddies, kudos to you–I have no idea how you do it!  Brian is out of town this weekend (he is on a men’s retreat with our church) and I am struggling through the whole working + single parent thing.  I’m counting the hours until he returns!

4.  I hired a babysitter for the first time ever tonight.  Since we have family less than a mile away, I have never needed a sitter before.  I think that the whole thing was scarier for me than it was for the kids.  Erin, thanks for watching my kids tonight!

5.  I am ready for Hannah’s temper tantrums to end.  (Sorry you had to witness a bad one Erin).  She’s in a silly stage where she likes to dress herself in crazy outfits & needs to have things “just so.” It’s all really cute until something is out of place or missing–that is when the tantrum will begin.  Her outfits do crack me up though.  Yesterday she wore jeans + two tee shirts (layered, with clashing patterns), a princess gown + socks pulled up to her knees (over her jeans), mittens, and a hat.  She was so proud & excited that she did it all by herself.

6.  I have had fantastic sessions this weekend!  I worked with an adorable young family this morning and photographed a gorgeous party this evening.  I can’t wait to share the pictures with y’all!

7.  Brian, I love you and I miss you!

8.  I need to pick up my house but I’m absolutely exhausted.

9.  I’ve been mentoring a photographer & helping her start up a business (she lives in another state) and I’m so excited to see the progress she is making.

10.  I like chocolate.

What a sweet family!
