When an MP3 player is thrown in a toilet, it will sink. Could someone please explain this to a 2-year-old for me?

Family portrait sessions
I’m still going through the TONS of photos from Tara & Benny’s Saturday wedding plus I am in the process of editing 2 other portrait sessions. I will get those pictures up ASAP but in the meantime, here are a few pics from some recent family sessions!
The “F” family! (note: read the story right below this set of pictures)

The other “F” Family
Funny story, this “F” family is related to the “F” family above! The two moms (who are also sisters-in-law) met up for lunch one day and were telling each other how excited they were because they booked had each booked a session for family portraits. As they were talking, they realized that they both booked Sarah Green to take their portraits! They contacted me at almost the same time and their sessions were only two weeks apart.

I have finally caught up!
My hectic Christmas rush is over & I have finally caught up with work. I now have time to get back to regular blogging! I love blogging & missed it so much during the past few months so I am super-excited to finally be able to get back into the game.
Okay so my first blog post after my hiatus . . . MY OWN KIDS!
I have these two pictures hanging side by side in my dining room. They are each 30×40 size stretched canvases hanging in frames.

I just love this picture of Sam’s smile. This one hangs in my entryway in a 30×30 gallery-wrapped canvas.

Just a couple more recent shots of my kids . . . these are from early December.

I used a couple of these pictures for our 2008 Christmas card.

Family night out
Tonight we had a portrait session for our church directory. The pictures were taken by a national picture-chain that frequently does these types of church directory pictures. The pictures turned out as we expected. Hannah has a very bored/solemn/angry look on her face and Sam is almost rolling his eyes in the picture while Brian & I look awkward . . . and that was the BEST of the seven pictures they gave us to choose from!
We did have fun after the portrait session though. We went out to eat & the kids got to hear a mariachi band for the first time. Hannah & Sam could hardly keep their eyes off of the musicians.
Baby Andrew’s lifestyle portraits
When Andrew’s mom contacted me a couple of weeks ago wanting to schedule a photo session for her son’s 3-month portraits, she asked if babies should only be photographed indoors with a backdrop or if it was okay for us to take the pictures outdoors. I love the fact that Andrew’s mom was able to think outside the box. As moms, we are bombarded with fliers from the photo-chains showing babies on backdrops. It is so easy to fall into the trap of thinking that posed studio-type shots are the only way to take baby portraits. I feel like custom children’s portraits are much more natural outdoors. Baby Andrew agreed with us–he was incredibly relaxed throughout the session and impressed us with his incredible smiles and personality.
