Brittany & Bubba: We did
Brittany and Bubba were married in April at First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. A few weeks ago, Brittany contacted me requesting a post-wedding photography session in downtown Midland. She wanted a laid-back, fun session with a hint of artistic urban edge. I absolutely love the results!
A quick re-enactment of some of the more traditional wedding shots . . .
Baby Brooklyn’s family portraits
Remember Baby Brooklyn’s newborn portraits? Her family loved the pictures from that session and drove in from Canyon, Texas to have their photographs taken.
Brooklyn was joined by her parents, aunt and uncle, cousins, and grandparents for this portrait shoot. We met at the Museum of the Southwest here in Midland and enjoyed a relaxing session. The whole family had fun at this session then went out afterwards for ice cream to visit and celebrate.
The “F” children were absolutely wonderful to work with!
This expression on Baby Brooklyn’s face totally cracks me up!
“F” and “H” family, I truly enjoyed working with you all. Your family is beautiful and your children are absolutely precious!
Bekah’s bridal portraits
Remember Bekah from her engagement portrait session with Tad a few weeks ago? Bekah and I met on Friday evening for her bridal portraits. She brought one of her bridesmaids along for assistance and we got to snapping! I am looking forward to Bekah’s wedding at Claydesta in August. She and Tad are an amazing couple and I am incredibly excited for them.
One of the things that I most enjoy about working with brides and photographing weddings is the blessing of sharing in the excitement and joy of a couple as they start out in life together. At our shoot, Bekah was telling me about the apartment that she and Tad found to live in after their wedding. They are excited to move in and get everything set up and in place. They should have plenty of stuff to fill it with too–Bekah has been quite busy with bridal showers!
Photojournalism
What an interesting week.
Yesterday Kathleen Thurber from the Midland Reporter-Telegram stopped by to ask me a few questions about my background and my photography business. Her story should be featured in the online edition of the MRT next week–I will provide the link when it is available.
Today the co-publisher of a magazine contacted me. She enjoys my work and knows that I hold a B.A. in journalism (news-editiorial) from Baylor University and an M.Ed from Concordia University. I was asked to submit a photo essay featuring West Texas. It will be fun to put my degree to use!
